Audioscope
Posted on November 13th, 2012 by Adam Pelling-Deeves
Last weekend was Audioscope, a one day music festival raising money for Shelter and for which I’ve been producing the projected visuals for the past four years.
I wasn’t totally happy with the projections I had created in 2011 and decided to fall back on the 2010 batch early in the day. I had intended to concentrate on a brand new set this year but my busy summer and autumn left me with little time. Not wanting to re-use 2010’s visuals again, curation rather than creation seemed to be the best solution.
I’ve been following the work of Beeple on Vimeo since loving his Century Gothic video back in 2005/6, and more recently I look forward to his latest creation dropping into my feed from his VJ Clips Channel. He’s added 173 of them over the past two years — each one unique and stunning, as well as being released under the Creative Commons license to be freely used. The perfect shortcut for my needs!
I downloaded a few dozen clips and looped and mixed them onto a ninety minute repeating DVD, but for those of you with more sophisticated VJing methods, the Cinema 4D projects that each of the clips are made from are also available at his website, http://www.beeple-crap.com.
The day was fantastic as always with a great line-up of music and some excellent visuals. Thanks Beeple! Here’s a few snaps of the results:
